When a person (male or female) leads on another person into thinking they're interested in them. After leading on this individual they "ghost" them and disappear. This is usually indicated from no responses through text, phone call or email. Ghosting is performed by selfish people and ones who don't believe in karma. Because what goes around, most certainly comes around.
Dave: Yo what happened to Jess?
Fil: idk man, she won't hit me back up
Dave: man she ghosted you
Fil: truuuuu

1. To leave a social event without saying good bye.
2. To say you'll be right back or step outside and not come back to the party.
3. To hang out and after not too long of a duration, the person is no where to be found.
Brian's hanging out with his co-workers at the bar and says he's going to step outside to grab a smoke. After sometime, his co-workers realize he never came back.

Co-workers reaction - That fool freakin' ghosted us again.

To get ghosted is when a girl randomly changes her cell number and doesn't tell you what it is. Usually there is a boyfriend involved, and hes not you.
"She ghosted me after her boyfriend found out we were hooking up."

(Past tense) Slang term in the IT world meaning to make an exact image of an entire hard drive, or one or more of its partitions, for the purpose of backup or large-scale setups such as computer labs. Also known as drive cloning, etc.
Tech 1: Fuck, dude, help me fix this server, I just knocked it off the table while it was running and now it won't detect the hard drive! If we don't get this up soon, the admin is going to fux0r us!

Tech 2: Calm down man, I ghosted the primary hard drive yesterday so I have a backup.

gho·sted (verb, intransitive)
Similar to bail, flake, ditch, or escape

1) To show up or make an appearance, but then leave suddenly and/or hastily without notice.

Similar to a 'flake,' but differs in that the person almost follows though only to ditch/bail shortly after. Generally associated with unreliable persons.

2) To leave hastily, generally without notice.
"Sorry I ghosted on you last night. I just didn't feel like being sociable."
"Dude, what happened to you yesterday? You totally ghosted out."
